Sunday was the end of our Summer Series (but not the end of our shows) and what a terrific series it turned out to be! Photos of competitions and trophy winners will be online within 24 hours, well done to everyone to took part and in particular to all of our trophy winners.
Before I ramble on, we would like to draw your attention to the Showjumping Extravaganza we have planned for Sunday 23rd August (please note this date has been changed from 16th August), schedules may be downloaded from the Forms & Documents section of the website. It's going to be super. Also, we will have our usual Wednesday evening jumping tonight from 6:30pm.
As always, we have a load of people to thank for each and every show we host, from our own staff and volunteers without whom we could never organise these events to some of our spectators and visitors, who will roll up their sleeves and get stuck in to helping wherever it is needed. And of course to our fabulous judges, who give their time freely and sometimes stand in the middle of a field in terrible weather to make sure all competitors are judged fairly and professionally. It's always a very long day for everyone involved. We get very many comments after and during each show from people saying how much they love the atmosphere at Glencart, they love the fact that everyone is so supportive and no-one leaves feeling disappointed. Well - that's just us! We want all who attend, whether for competition or just a day out to leave feeling they had a great time and were welcome here, which everyone is.
This year, once again, saw the standards raised. We welcomed new competitors and were delighted to see them return at each show. The time and effort in preparation from those taking part does not go un-noticed and we are always very pleased and proud to see the incredibly high standard of turnout and sportsmanship. We had BSJA judges at a couple of our shows this season and they commented that not only were our classes busier than many they judge, but the standard of jumping is in many cases higher.
Thank you to everyone for making this a great summer series, we look forward to seeing you all again throughout the year at our events and back again next year for the 2010 series.
