Glencart 15th June

Sunday 15th June was a great afternoon of unaffiliated showjumping. Lots of new riders and horses and ponies and as always a high standard of jumping and sportsmanship.

The young lady in the picture above, was a wee star! She was the first competitor to jump the wall this afternoon and on a tiny pony, she jumped with 2 cracking wee ponies today and did a great job on both of them.

What a super start to our competition year!

Thanks to everyone to took part. It's not possible to mention everyone, but to every one of you we appreciate your participation and all of the preparation you put in to your horses and ponies.

Every year we love to see the same loyal competitors come back time and again, and where these are youngsters, it gives us the greatest joy to see them mature and improve year on year. Each year too we meet new friends and welcome new people to Glencart.

This year will be no exception.

The first notable metion goes to young Chloe, a young lady who started riding with us for the very first time during one of our Easter Courses, she took to it like a fish to water. Today she competed in showjumping, big classes for a wee tiny person and a wee tiny pony, up to 65cm on her adorable dartmoor pony Genie (bought from Glencart). She also took part in a number of showing classes and won one of them! The first time ever she has done any showing and the first time she has ever taken part in a large show. Well done Chloe! We are all very pround of you - and your Mum is quite pround too.Wink

The first Sunday afternoon Unaffiliated Showjumping got off to a flying start today!

Great weather, great jumping and a wonderfully supportive crowd helped us to start our 2008 competition year.

As always we started with the teenies jumping the wobblies on a variety of ponies (my personal favourite class). It's great to watch these wee kids starting out on thier jumping careers and loving every minute it.

Those who were on lead rein last year are skooting around the course unattended and with terrific confidence, it's lovely to see them progress.

We took loads of photos and they are uploading now, check the picture galleries. I say 'we' as from now on there will be two of us taking photos at all Glencart events, myself as usual and my daughter Rachel who has become something of a very accomplished photographer - no idea how that happened Undecided

Photos from both of us are online.

Glencart Equestrian Centre was established by Craig and Evelyn McCulloch to provide a unique show centre catering for riders of all disciplines and abilities.

In addition Glencart offers livery to clients on a part or full livery basis. Due to space restrictions we can no longer offer DIY livery.

We have stabling for 30 horses and ponies and all boxes are currently allocated, with over 70 acres of well managed grazing you are assured that your horse or pony will be well cared for at Glencart.

Glencart has always offered the highest level of instruction and specialises in showjumping, with a good and varied selection of BSJA standard jumps. The addition in 2006 of our fully insured and accredited Riding School has seen a massive increase in our riding students, who come from Renfrewshire, Lanarkshire and all over Ayrshire to ride our top class horses and ponies. We always welcome new riders and you may bring your own horse or pony for lessons if you wish.
